About Jason's Pumpkin Patch
Jason's Pumpkin Patch is owned and operated by the Laubacher family--Jason, Kayla, Sandy, Ron, Hayden & Luke with the help of their family and friends. Jason started the business in 2001 when he was 10 years old, and it has continued to grow every year since. Jason's Pumpkin Patch features over 100 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash as well as many activities for the family.
Planting
We plant pumpkins at the beginning of June each year. We use a custom built single row pumpkin planter, someone sits and drops each pumpkin seed in each hill. We then spend the summer caring for the pumpkin crop.
Spraying
Pumpkins are sprayed once a week to help fight off disease and insects.
Corn Stalks
Corn stalks are made using an Amish corn binder. First, we hand pick each ear of corn off of the stalks. We then make a pass with the corn binder, which cuts and bundles the stalks. Finally, we make a pass with a wagon and pick up the stalks once they are dry.
